John

For those of you who might know Ri a little better, we wanted to make sure you knew John as well (Ri thinks he's a swell guy)!  

So - as I’m currently in business school basically the only way I know how to introduce myself is apparently through a “30-second-pitch” - There is a reason Ri is the writer in our couple… So with that said, here we go - I grew up in Palo Alto, California and went to the University of California, San Diego for undergrad where I double-majored in International Economics and Chinese Studies.  While there I was a leader for the school's club sailing team for three years and wound up in the College Sailing Hall of Fame for my leadership of the team and the pacific coast sailing conference.  After graduating I worked for Ullman Sails International (a company that makes sails for sailboats) as a marketer in Newport Beach (My and Ri’s first date was at the coffee shop across from my work!).  After three years I decided to return to school and started my MBA program at the UCLA Anderson School of Management.  While there I have taken on two internships - one at NBC Universal, working with DreamWorks Animation, and the other at The Wonderful Company (think Pistachios, Pomegranate Juice, and Halos)  where I’ll be returning full time in August 2019 to work in Brand Management!

Outside of all the career stuff, I would like to think I have a few passions.  Sailing is obviously on there, but so is cooking for friends and family, photography and videography (as well as video editing), design work, and travel.  Together Ri and I have put on over a dozen five-course meals for groups of 10-20, events we call "AJRB" dinners (check out the link under the “US” tab for all the details on that).
